Over the past three months, I've had coffee, meals, calls, and Skypes with over 100 corporate researchers, former colleagues, vendors, and independent researchers. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone that took the time to share their unique perspective with me regarding the state of the research industry. In nearly all of these conversations, three key challenges came up.
First and foremost was that corporate researchers are desperately trying to keep their heads above water as they are tasked with doing more with less, faster and better. Budgets are often flat or decreasing. Business partners are getting more impatient and, in some cases, taking research into their own hands with DIY tools.
Second, is that the number of new tools and techniques is both exciting and utterly overwhelming. It's nearly impossible to keep up with the new entrants, perspective, and trends.
Lastly, was the ever-present challenge of getting stakeholders to engage and buy into insights. Attention spans seem to be at an all-time low, and the number of decisions needing to be made is growing.
It's with these key challenges as the focus, that I'm officially launching Shine Insight. I believe that our agile expertise and low overhead business model will allow for real progress in helping corporate researchers to succeed in today's environment.
Welcome to Shine Insight.
